TRIAL FEEDBACK
Section One: Power and Authority
- For low marks, answer the exact question – be blunt and succinct
- Source evaluation:
- Answer the question exactly
- The response must be structured around the source if the question says, ‘Explain the value of Source A’
- Focus on why the source is valuable and what we learn from it rather than summarising what it said
- Must focus on context – not just content
- Establish basic details of the source, then directly quote from relevant parts of it
- QUESTION 3:
- The base response around sources draws on own knowledge to flesh it out
- Explain the ‘escalation’ à how and why it escalated (deal with Source C first)
- Always establish basic detail of the sources or ‘origins’ when discussing them, and refer explicitly to what they tell us and how they do it, with specific detail from the source
- QUESTION 4:
- Must be well structured – treated as a mini-essay with paragraphs
- ‘Integrate evidence’ means base it on your own knowledge
- Confusion between the rise and consolidation of Nazi power
- Need to engage with the source, briefly explain what Source D shows
